Bird Watching in Cusco – Huacarpay Lagoon and Wetlands

• Morning:
  The day begins with a pick-up from your hotel at 5:30 a.m. (or earlier if needed).
  Afterward, we will transfer by van towards Huacarpay Lagoon.

• Arrival:
  We will reach Huacarpay Lagoon at approximately 6:00 a.m.
  A brief 1-minute walk will take us to the first viewpoint (cabin), where we can enjoy the sight of aquatic and high-altitude birds. Among the species to observe are the Pimpollín Grebe (Rollandia Rolland), Torrent Duck (Merganetta armata), Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis), and others.

• Breakfast:
  After birdwatching, we will enjoy a box lunch.

• Further Exploration:
  Next, we will head to the southwestern side of the lagoon to observe hummingbirds, such as the Noble Hummingbird (Oreonympha nobilis) and the Giant Hummingbird (Patagonia gigas), which are unique to this area.

• Return:
  We will head back to the city of Cusco, arriving around 12:00 p.m.
