Trekking – Cusco – Ñaupa Church

Itinerary

Pick-up and Transfer to the Río Pachar Sector

The tour begins with pick-up from the center of Cusco. We’ll travel by vehicle to the Río Pachar sector, located within the Ollantaytambo archaeological park, to reach the enigmatic site of Ñaupa Iglesia.

Stop at the Huarocondo Community

After exploring Ñaupa Iglesia, we’ll head to the Huarocondo community where we’ll have time to enjoy a traditional local lunch. The region is especially known for its delicious roast pork, considered the best in all of Cusco. We’ll also visit the exterior of the Huarocondo temple to view the forgotten petroglyphs, which offer clues to what lies beneath the temple.

Visit to Zurite

Our next stop is Zurite, famous for its extensive terraces, which are the longest in all of Peru. This location is also known for the legend of the great war of Inca Pachacutec, where he earned his name before becoming the Inca king by defeating the Chancas and Huancas. On the mountain, there’s a symbol that few people can see.

Exploration at Quillarumiyoq

Next, we continue our journey to Quillarumiyoq, an archaeological park in the province of Anta, district of Ancahuasi (The House of the Eagle). This park hides several secrets from the view of most tourists:

  • Cave of the Trapped Souls: A place known for its symbols on the walls and the spiritual energy that emanates from it.

  • Fertility Fountain and Huaca del Sapo: Here, we’ll find the Stone of the Moon, a unique feature in the moon temples of Cusco.

  • Usnu: A ceremonial space used by the Inca army for meetings and rituals.

  • SalaQaqa: A sector used for offerings and ceremonies dedicated to Apu Soqomarka, the guardian of the site. Only the most experienced and strong can visit this area.

Return to Cusco

After exploring all these fascinating places, we’ll return to Cusco in our vehicle, concluding the tour in the city center.
